Why choose therapy?
While the decision to begin therapy is an individual choice, in many regards it may be helpful for everyone. There are a wide variety of reasons to begin therapy ranging from a diagnosed mental illnesses to help managing daily stress or a transitional period of your life.  If you are seeking diagnosis or treatment for a mental illness, therapy can help you better manage your symptoms, outbreaks, and triggers. It can also offer you increased coping skills and open your eyes to new ways of dealing with situations that you may not have been aware of before. Therapy can offer problem-solving skills, provide support, and help you work through life changes, allowing you to see your circumstances as a personal growth opportunity instead of a burden or obstacle.

How long do sessions last?
The initial session is a 60 minute meeting whereas future sessions are typically 45-53 minutes long.

What are your office hours?
Our office hours and administrative staff are available Mon – Fri 9am to 6pm; however, some of our therapists have weekend availability for sessions.

How does payment work?
We accept debit and credit card payments (including HSA accounts). Most of our clients choose to save their credit card to their account for ease, to pay for their copayments on the date of service.

Do you accept insurance?
Yes, we do and accept most major insurances. Please indicate which insurance you have in the intake paperwork and our administrative team will assess the amount due at time of service.

What’s your cancellation policy?
We request that if you need to cancel you do so at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment time. You will incur a late cancellation or did not appear fee for missed sessions not cancelled or rescheduled at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment. Do you prescribe medications or offer psychiatric services in your offices?
Unfortunately, no. None of our two locations offer psychiatric services.

Is a referral needed to begin counseling with Darby Creek?
We do not require referrals. Simply visit the Work with Us tab to begin the intake process.
