Matt Harmon, MA, LPC
Matt received his master’s degree in counseling from Huntington University. Previously completing his internship at Open Arms Counseling in downtown Columbus in 2018, he has worked with a variety of presenting issues and people. He is now currently in training for specialization in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), as a useful framework and tool for treating trauma, panic attacks, and intrusive thoughts. Other counseling experience includes helping children, teens, and adults with depression and other mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, life adjustments, and anger, through personalized care with evidenced-based solutions. Prior to entering the counseling field, Matt worked in foster care group home support, direct care for individuals with developmental disabilities, and youth ministry. Matt seeks to serve his clients with respect to their unique experiences and backgrounds for all walks of life in order to help reach their goals for health and flourishing. A native of West Liberty, Ohio and currently residing in Columbus, Matt enjoys various hobbies/interests such as woodworking, photography, video games, camping, and movies.
Matt works out of the West Jefferson office.
